Set Up your Box Profile
First, turn on your box. Blue lights indicate the box to be booting. Red and green lights mean the box is ready. Connect to the WiFi Hotspot of the box by choosing the FDX Network.
Use the credentials you received with the Box to log in to the Box Wifi.
Then use my.filmdatabox.com as the URL in your browser
Connect with the Internet Network available in in your room.

Set your own Box Profile.
You can already work with the FDX Box now to backup and transcode directly connected devices. For setting up new projects and workflows please see our tutorials.

Click on „User Management“.

Log in to the Cloud. The User Management Dashboard opens. Here you can see all your Users.

To create a new one, click on the Plus Symbol.

For any new User you can choose between three types:

The Administrator has full control: Project and User management, Data Management and FDX Cloud.Data Managers can process all Data and use the FDX Cloud, but have no access to Project and User management. This is mainly for Data Wranglers and or anyone responsible for Data Backup on SetCloud User can only use FDX Cloud with downloading Files. This is mainly for Editors or Directors. Let’s create a new user. This will be a Data Manager, we name him Tom. To set Tom, enter his Mailadress and create a password. Tom will now get an E-Mail with his login Data. User Data can be changed and Users can be removed later. With a click on „Done“ the box will create the User and you will see Toms Profil. Now you can assign a project to Tom, which he can work on. In our case it’s the Project Test. Be aware, that you have to Save all changes with a click on „save changes“. Wait for confirmation.
After that you can go back to the User Management dashboard and you will see Toms profile has been created. If you want to test it you should Log out yourself with a click on the „Log Out“ Tab and Login again as Tom.

Click Project Settings and create a new Project with a click on the plus.
Type in company and project name.
With a click on „Save“, the Box will create your project. It is currently set on the default settings. Using these default setting you could start right away to work with the project. There are some pre-configured metadata like: Shooting Day, Director or DoP. You can change, add or delete this data.
We will go on with Transcodes Section. There are three different pre-configured Transcodes by default: Preview, DNXHD36 and AVC-INTRA 100. You can as well create custom transcodes. Just click one the „Plus“ and give the Transcode a Name, choose your preferred codec, Resolution and a bitrate.
You could also burn in Clip name and the Clip Timecode. Now you can set up the Upload Destinations for your Transcodes. There is no destination set by default, but you have 7 possible upload destinations such as ftp, sftp, Dropbox, FDX Cloud and others.
At the end you can check all settings on the main Project Settings screen.

Click Project Settings and select the project you are working on.
Click on „Configure Workflows“ in the bottom. You will see a workflow set by default.
For creating a custom workflow, click on the plus.
Name your workflow and customize it.
Follow the steps in the video as an example.

If Files have been uploaded to the FDX Cloud, anyone with access to the FDX Cloud can preview, comment and download these Files to local storage.
Login to the FDX Cloud.
You can see all projects you are assigned to.
Choose the Project you want to see or download Files from.
With a Click on it the Folder opens.
You can now switch between Review and Download Mode.
Then click on the Fileset you want to preview or download.

The Admin is able to set up, control and change all settings and processes of a FDX box

Datamanagers

Admin

The Datamanager is able to to control all copy/transcode processes of the projects he is assigned to

Cloud Users

Admin

The Cloud User is only able to download files from the cloud of projects he is assigned to
